Objective of the Game
The objective of Teen Patti is to have the best three-card hand or to make all other players fold. The player with the highest-ranking hand wins the pot.
Number of Players
Teen Patti can be played with 3 to 6 players at a table. Each player receives 3 cards.
Card Rankings
Cards are ranked from highest to lowest:
Ace (A): Highest card
King (K), Queen (Q), Jack (J): Face cards
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2: Number cards
Hand Rankings (Highest to Lowest)
1. Trail (Three of a Kind): Three cards of the same rank (e.g., A-A-A, K-K-K)
2. Pure Sequence (Straight Flush): Three consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., A-K-Q of spades)
3. Sequence (Straight): Three consecutive cards, not all same suit (e.g., A-K-Q mixed suits)
4. Color (Flush): Three cards of the same suit, not in sequence (e.g., A-10-7 of hearts)
5. Pair: Two cards of the same rank (e.g., A-A-K)
6. High Card: Highest card when no other combination (e.g., A-K-J)
Betting Rules
- Blind players bet half the amount of seen players
- Minimum bet is set by the table limits
- Maximum bet depends on table type
- Players can call, raise, or fold
- Betting continues until all players call or fold
Gameplay Flow
- All players place the initial bet (ante)
- Three cards are dealt to each player face down
- Players decide to play seen or blind
- Betting round begins (clockwise)
- Players can call, raise, or fold
- Betting continues until all active players have called
- Showdown: Remaining players reveal their cards
- Winner takes the pot
Special Rules
Side Show
Players can request a side show to compare hands with another player. If the challenger loses, they must fold.
Pack
Players can fold (pack) at any time during their turn, forfeiting their chance to win the pot.
Show
When only two players remain, either can call for a show to compare hands immediately.
Tie-Breaking Rules
- If two players have the same hand rank, the higher cards win
- For pairs, the higher pair wins; if same, the kicker decides
- For sequences, the highest card in the sequence wins
- For colors, the highest card wins
